CAMPER TIPS

"Master your Baja escape with our local knowledge."

Driving in Baja

The toll road is safe and scenic. Always carry a valid driver's license and Mexican auto insurance (required by law).

Tolls: Approx $2-3 USD each (Pesos preferred)

Fishing

Surf fishing is excellent (Halibut, Perch). No license required from shore. Best bait: sand crabs or squid.

Cell Service

Most US carriers (AT&T, Verizon) work well here. Enable "Roaming" before crossing border.

Towing Trailers

The road down is dirt/gravel. 4WD is recommended for towing heavy trailers back up. We can assist you with our tractor if needed!

Dress in Layers

Days are warm and sunny, but coastal nights can be cool and breezy. Bring a hoodie or light jacket for the bonfire!

Cash is King

While many places accept dollars, carrying Pesos is always best for tolls and local taco stands. (Approx 18-20 MXN per USD).

Stay Hydrated

The Baja sun can be deceptive. Ensure you bring plenty of drinking water for your group, especially if engaging in active sports.
